The new Ordover Gallery is pleased to present ASIA, by internationally recognized
National Geographic photographer Art Wolfe, July 1 to October 5, 2008.
Wolfe's ethereal imagery explores the landscape, people and customs of remote
locales. The Gala Grand Opening, July 17, 6pm to 8:30pm, is open to the public.
The new gallery location, 410 South Cedros Ave., is a modern, airy space in Solana
Beach's Cedros Design District. Larger and with two levels, the new gallery is
perfectly suited to a new mix of artwork. The gallery will now show paintings,
sculpture and art jewelry in addition to fine art photography and glass.
"We think the new space and artwork will delight everyone," said Abe Ordover,
managing partner. "The Ordover Gallery remains committed to promoting fine art
photography as a core part of its mission, opening with the magnificent work of
Art Wolfe. We are also very excited about representing some of the best glass,
painting and sculpture artists from around the country as well."
Art Wolfe, recognized throughout the world for his mastery of color, composition
and perspective, has authored more than sixty books of photography. He spends
nearly nine months of the year traveling on shoots. Wolfe is the recipient
of a coveted Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award. The North American
Nature Photography Association has named him "Outstanding Nature Photographer of the
Year." He is a member of Canon's elite list of renowned photographers,
"Explorers of Light," and Fujifilm's Talent Team. Magazines all over the world
publish his photographs and stories.
The Ordover Gallery is also pleased to present fine art photography by Peter Fay,
Abe Ordover and Lisa Ross, as well as paintings by Saphire. Peter Fay will
present works that explore the drama of motion. Abe Ordover will show abstractions
created from flowing water and richly colored landscapes. Lisa Ross will present
imagery on large canvases created during her travels across the globe. Saphire
will show abstract works that include glimpses of the human figure.
